Quick Check of Potentiostat EIS Performance
The maximum frequency is an important specification for a potentiostat used to perform Electrochemical Impedance Spectroscopy (EIS). The majority of EIS manufacturers specify a maximum frequency of 1 MHz. Some manufacturer's specifications, however, misrepresent true system performance. Many EIS instruments specified to measure impedance at 1 MHz can apply a 1 MHz signal and measure a response but have huge errors when they do so. |

Grading Coke and Coal Blends for Steel Production with a CRAIC Technologies Microphotometer
Coal is a vital component in steel production as a source of carbon. The CRAIC QDI CoalProTM Vitrinite Reflectance Measurement System is designed to ensure that the coal blends used in steel production are optimum and consistent batch-to-batch.
The QDI CoalPro™ Vitrinite Reflectance Measurement System is a microphotometer designed for the organic petrographic analysis using Standard Test Methodologies ISO 7404-5 and ASTM D2798. This microphotometer is configured to measure the reflectance from vitrinite coals & kerogens per these and other international protocols. However, it also has a very flexible design. The QDI CoalPro™ was developed anticipating the next generation of test protocols as well as for fluorescence and micro-imaging.
In its basic configuration, bundled with QDI CoalPro™software, the QDI CoalPro™ vitrinite reflectance measurement system grades vitrinite coals using the ISO 7404 and ASTM D2798 standard test methods. However, the QDI CoalPro™ can also be upgraded to a full QDI 302™ microscope spectrophotometer to measure the full reflectance spectrum and the spectral fluorescence from coal, kerogen and other petrochemicals. Additionally, it can capture full color images: all with the same instrument.
With no moving parts, the QDI CoalPro™ is durable and user friendly. Designed with flexibility and speed in mind, the QDI CoalPro™ Vitrinite Reflectance Measurement system rapidly measures vitrinite reflectivity and also has the ability to do other types of spectroscopic and petrographic analysis and imaging. With this flexibility of design, it will easily comply with future changes in coal testing methods and your own experiments.
The QDI CoalPro™ Vitrinite Reflectance Measurement system is a microphotometer that can also be upgraded to the QDI 302™ to acquire full range microspectra and digital images in absorbance, reflectance, and fluorescence. The lit hexagonal optical head is a trademark of CRAIC Technologies, Inc. |
